Ark 4

We would tend those glades of flowering stone, not quarry them. With cautious skill, tap by tap – a small chip of rock and no more, perhaps, in a whole  anxious day – so we would work.
Gimli, son of Gloin (from The Two Towers: JRR Tolkien).

And so it goes with Ark 1: wood once removed cannot be replaced. Or to paraphrase Dad: Consider thrice, chip once….

  1. Lovely words from several authors. Beautiful wood colour & textures from your work.
    What is this form?

    1. Greetings Lucy. It will be a sort of Ark, I hope – or more correctly, spirit of Ark. Early days.
The wood is Pink Gum: tough, and difficult to carve….grain all over the place!

  2. Beautiful piece emerging. I did always like the dwarves better than the elves, they seemed to be engaged in something good.
