….Some work of noble note, may yet be done….

 

Fashioned from an old post: certainly a eucalypt, possibly Pink Gum.  A tough wood to carve, but worth the effort: it takes a lovely, soft burnish.

Sam and I went beachcombing after the recent storms, and came across many small treasures….

 

My thanks to Simon Scott for his indispensable help with the installation of our wood heater. I acted as apprentice for the day, and was pleased to learn a little about this esoteric branch of knowledge. The heater makes a welcome difference – radiating a warmth that I would call comfortable, rather than oppressive….or soporific.
