  1. It’s a very attractive print Chris, a romantic scene of village life, full of his motifs
I’m curious about the mountain which is not the usual shape for Mt Fuji – maybe another mountain?
His composition is wonderful with that lacey ‘band’ of dark trees, fences and forests across the foreground.

    1. Greetings Lucy. Yes, that little mountain is not Mt Fuji, which would be a long way east of Seto.
I cannot say which mountain it may be; Hiroshige sometimes ‘invented’ a mountain or mountains for design purposes.
Who knows why nobody else submitted a bid….I was on my own….

    1. Greetings Sneha. Yes, silence and activity – and fine draughtsmanship to bring the two elements together so beautifully! I love this print; I got lucky….
