Yesterday we walked upstream – Sam armed with his little phone camera. The rains have arrived, and water is moving through the catchment. Soon it will reach the estuary, and enter Yankalilla Bay – become Ocean.

What a beautiful place! It’s amazing that it’s stayed so unspoiled over the seventy years we’ve known it. I always thought it was quite something that on one side of the creek the rocks are several billion years old and on the other relatively recent glacial moraines. The creek itself seems to handle it all with grace.

Thanks Geoff. Still a place to cherish, against the odds. I’d love to be caretaker – work enough for a lifetime.
It looks unmistakably southern South Australian..
Greetings Richard. A remnant and sanctuary, hidden away.
Great pics. The changing landscape due to rains or lack thereof always keep one interested.
I am sure our First people thought this way too.
Each going out to walk , a new something to see.
