‘Degraded’ is scarcely an adequate description: more like ‘scorched earth’.
The seedlings are Coastal Wattle (Acacia sophorae) – ground cover to follow.

Well done Chris. I carried buckets of water to seedlings like that at Black Point in the Sixties. I was so little my arms hurt from the buckets. (I learnt then that carrying water was high energy) I hope your seedlings feel more at home.

Chris are these new plantings ? What a valiant effort. Yes degraded surfaces are so hard to restore … any old branches and sticks placed across the bare parts will attract & support other ground covers too
Just planted. A lot more to do. Yes, preservation is so much easier than restoration…..
